Article By National India T.V.News Channel New Delhi:  Dr. Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin is the 52nd Da'i al-Mutlaq of a minority group of Shia Muslims,  the Dawoodi Bohras.  Syedna was born in Surat, Gujarat on March 6, 1915. He passed away in Mumbai on Jan 17, 2014.  Here are some unknown and rare facts of his life:  1. Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin Saheb was the first Dai among Doat Mutlaqeen to complete 100 years of age. 2. At the age of twelve, Syedna miraculously emerged safe from a car accident in Colombo, where his vehicle got hung on one wheel. 3. Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin became the 52nd Dai-el-Mutlaq at the age of 52 years. 4. 8th August 1986 was declared as "His Holiness Dr. Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin Day" by the Mayor of Houston. 5. Al Hayy Al Muqaddas Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (RA) Milaad Celebrations List Doctor Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (Urdu: محمد برھان الدین) ( Abul-Qaid Johar Mohammed Burhanuddin ) (born March 6, 1915) is the 52nd Dā‘ī l-Muṭlaq (Dai, or Unrestricted Missionary) of the Dawoodi Bohras. The Dawoodi Bohras are a sub group within the Mustaali, Ismaili Shia branch of Islam Burhanuddin was born in Surat, Gujarat, India. He was appointed to be the future Dā‘ī at the age of 19 by his father, the previous Dā‘ī l-Muṭlaq, Taher Saifuddin. Burhanuddin succeeded his father, upon the latter's death, when he was 53 years of age. He has seven sons and three daughters and all members of his family reside at Saifee Mahal, Mumbai. Burhanuddin completed recitation of the Quran in 1921.At around the age of 13, he escaped an accident when bridge railing collapsed while on travel in Colombo, where his vehicle got hung on one wheel.
